Founded by actor Masi Oka, known for his role in the TV series “Heroes,” Mobius Digital is an indie game studio based in Los Angeles, California. In 2019, the company welcomed Alex Beachum, a graduate student from USC Games, to their team. Together, they created the highly acclaimed action-adventure game Outer Wilds. Night School Studio, founded by Sean Krankel and Adam Hines in June 2014, is a two-member indie game studio specializing in dialogue-driven and adventure games. Their debut game, Oxenfree, was released in 2016 and was widely acclaimed. It was a combination of graphic-adventure mystery and coming-of-age teen-movie aesthetics.
